About This Spot

Stepping into Par & Grill in Caribou feels like arriving at a familiar crossroads where community and comfort intersect. The atmosphere is inviting, neither rushed nor overly formal, which makes it an easy choice whether you’re dropping in for a casual meal or settling in with friends for an evening. The layout reflects its versatility—a welcoming family dining area, a cozy bar with a friendly hum of conversation, and an outdoor patio inviting slow afternoons during warmer months.

There’s a gentle pace here that encourages connection. Whether gathering around one of the larger tables for a family meal or grabbing a spot at the bar to share a story with locals, you sense the place is built for human moments, quiet comfort, and simple pleasures. The presence of dart boards and even a small virtual driving range adds an unexpected, playful touch that draws in those looking for a bit more than just food and drink.

Food arrives with the hearty reassurance of good, honest cooking rather than flash. The menu unfolds like a collection of crowd-pleasers with a slight twist—crisped fries, warm sandwiches filled generously, and spicy sauces that linger just long enough to invite a second bite. The scents wafting from the kitchen promise more than nourishment; they hint at shared meals and stories exchanged across tables.

Staff move with a quiet attentiveness, balancing efficiency with warmth, contributing to the easygoing vibe that lingers long after you leave your seat. Par & Grill may not chase the spotlight, but it offers a grounded, welcoming space where the everyday act of eating and drinking becomes part of the fabric of local life.

Walk in and find yourself a table at this family friendly restaurant. They have multiple tables that sit 5+ people and what also seemed like a separated room for events. The service was great. I've only been to this establishment once but the consensus at my table was that the food was "Par". The steak and cheese sub I ordered was unfortunately cold and soggy. My wife's food was also cold. Otherwise it would have been great, so I'm giving the food 3 stars. The establishment had a golf simulator (it was not in operation while I was there) and they also had several dart boards. The bar area of the restaurant and the main seating area of the restaurant had two different vibes. The bar area seemed to be trying to capture the "Sports Bar" theme and the main seating area had a northern Maine old fashioned family restaurant vibe. Overall good experience and would recommend.

Seems like one of the better places with a variety of dining experiences in the vicinity. There is a family dining area, outdoor patio and separate bar area with dart boards and a stage that also has a virtual driving range you can rent for $15/ 9 holes. If planning to play darts they do not have rental darts, but they have golf clubs for use.

Lovely staff and atmosphere. The spicy sauce is delicious, highly recommend putting it on everything.

A nice place to hang out for a drink or meal. I ordered a steak. It took a while to come out but it was generously served and tasted good.

I've been here several times when visiting Maine. Food is good and drinks are cold. Always a great experience. Met some great folks at the bar to chat with. There's not much between Houlton and Caribou but Par and Grill is a must if your out that way. Plenty of parking for bikes,sleds,sxs's...etc...
